To those who still support Mr. Trump:
I truly applaud your vision. You have an understanding of economics, of alliances, of the constraints of the Constitution that I wholly lack.
When you have a moment, please enlighten me as to how Mr. Trump's apparent intended decimation of markets with threatened or imposed tariffs will bring prosperity to our nation, not the collapse that every rational expert on this issue warns will result?
And while you are at it, can you explain how publicly humiliating world leaders invited to appear before him does anything but make him seem a manipulative ogre? Or how suggesting to our northern neighbor that they would be better off throwing in the towel and merely becoming his vassal will undoubtedly lead to warm hugs and better days for any of us?
And can you teach a course in the document that is at the core of our democracy? Start with the first amendment, that pesky one about freedom of speech. Where does what he is doing to Harvard, what he has done to those who have chosen to speak out on certain issues, align with this? And advise me what due process actually means for I clearly fail to comprehend its meaning.
Are any of you on Medicaid? Is your health insurance in jeopardy with the big beautiful bill? Did any of you work for the Federal government but now find yourself on the unemployment line? How do you not square the circle back to Mr. Trump?
You are certainly most clever. You know as an absolute that Mr. Trump has your back, today and forever. That he will never turn his ire in your direction. You must not know or care about anyone who is gay or transgender. You believe with all your heart that immigrants are destroying this country, that they are a scourge and if we can just get rid of twelve million or so of those among us, life will be immeasurably better. You have no doubt when Mr. Trump said he would end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in 24 hours he was correct, but for the imbecilic stance of Mr. Zelensky, or sometimes Mr. Putin. And taking over Gaza really does seem a logical plan.
I envy you your intelligence and your unwavering commitment to Mr. Trump. How his determination to ignore orders of the courts if they don't agree with him strengthens our democracy. How his bromance with Elon Musk, his co-presidency was a stroke of genius as they took a buzzsaw, hand in hand, cutting out the legs beneath us.
And I am in dire need of your guidance as to why accepting that plane from Qatar, having that dinner with the crypto crowd, raking in the personal deals across the globe and turning his office into a personal cash cow does not even in the least cause any concern.
All I see when I look out at the horizon is a path of destruction. To my clearly undiscerning eyes, Mr. Trump has created enemies without purpose, has made us vulnerable economically, has damaged and ruined lives for sport, has ignored and rejected the mandates of our founding documents, has neutered the other branches of government, has acted with cruelty at every turn and has done nothing but create chaos for its own sake. And put a few billion in his own pocket while he was at it. But that is obviously because I am lacking.
So please explain this all to me. I am waiting.
You'll have to wait an inordinately long time (like forever and a day).
Thyis is your best piece, ever. I think it should be the beginning of every discussion about that POS that we have, and how his followers just bask in his glory.
