We're Not Ready

We're not ready to concede.

We're not ready to live in the land of Oz.

We're not ready to accept Walker and Vance as being worthy of directing the course of this nation.

We're not ready to listen to Trump, DeSantis and Abbott saying I told you so.

We're not ready to give up the possibility of filling a Supreme Court vacancy in the next two years.

We're not ready to abandon the battle against climate change.

We're not ready to dehumanize immigrants, to diminish women's rights, to allow prejudices and hatreds to flourish unchecked.

We're not ready for the Elon Musks of the world to proliferate lies without redress or boundary.

We're not ready for voting rights to be denied.

We're not ready for this country to welcome autocracy as a viable option.

We're not ready to abandon morality.

And because we're not ready for any of this to happen we are going to do something about it.

We are going to vote.

We are going to vote like our future, the course of our lives and that of our children and grandchildren, depends on it.

Because it does.
