("My Brother Is Doing the Trump Dance.")
This morning I woke with a terrible thought: it was time for Kevin Dowd's annual lecture on the failings of the left. Only this time he would have the wind at his back and the election of Mr. Trump as Exhibit A. My worst fears have now been realized.
I think I hate the "I told you so's" coming from him more than virtually anyone else. Once a year, he pilfers the space otherwise allotted to his sister in the New York Times and we are compelled to sit at the Dowd family Thanksgiving gathering, listening to unwelcome pontificating by the uncle we have studiously avoided contact with all the other days on the calendar.
I can virtually taste the gloat in this year's words, as he considers us nothing more than a bunch of turkeys gobbled up by a crowd with a voracious appetite for dining on the carcass of the Democrats. We have been carved up and served with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
We have been licking our wounds these past weeks, waiting for Thanksgiving and the protection of a loving family to give us some solace and soften the blow. Instead we have Kevin Dowd, an uninvited guest, who has left a sour and bitter taste in our mouths.
Thanksgiving would not be the same without him. It would be far better.
ijust came across of a new word which encapulates this GOP election..."enshitification"
Ive read Kevins column today. Its amazing how many people can twist the facts. We are stuck with our new dictator for the next 2 years. Tariffs will lead to inflation, i cant wait to have my grocery prices rise, my taxes go up, and my insurance costs go though the roof.
Thank you Kevin for your enlightenment.
