"Harris Had Stronger Debate, Polls Find, But the Race Remains Deadlocked")
So the candidates are treading water. Trump, doing his best impression of himself, a daily train wreck somehow emerging relatively unscathed. Harris, with a smile on her face, warmth in her heart but still a few votes short of freedom from the Hell that awaits us if she falls on her principles.
The polls telling us what our gut already knew. Everything that has happened in recent months has been a mirage: Biden's immolation, Trump's near assassination (take one), Harris's ascension, Trump's gastronomical reference to ingesting pets, Trump being an errant tee shot away from the wrong end of a second bullet. As if none of it had occurred.
And no matter what is said or left unspoken, how many JD Vance “necessary” lies he pulls out of his posterior, what Coach Walz draws up in the huddle, if Mr. Trump is, well, Mr. Trump, no matter even if Ms. Harris cures cancer between now and November 5, this election will come down to which side of the bed a few people wake up on before they pull the lever.
This will play on endless loop, go down endless rabbit holes until then. All of it merely leading us here, moving forward, going nowhere.
It is sad and baffling that she is not Way Up in the poles.
