This is a collect call from the President of the United States. Do you accept? -Governing from the Big House
What would Mr. Trump's day be like if he governed from a cell?
Would it be any different if he led our nation from the big house rather than the White House?
I mean his morning TV schedule would be interrupted if he had to work in the prison kitchen, cutting carrots and potatoes. And maybe instead of eating all the wrong foods and not exercising, his intake of junk would be greatly reduced and he might start pumping some iron during his hour in the yard. Could be a good thing for him physically.
And during his down time, his alone time, he could actually start reading books, get the education he clearly missed in his earlier days. And then, even peruse some of the briefings he metaphorically (or maybe actually) flushed down the toilet during his earlier stab at the presidency.
Visitors would be few and likely far more important to Mr. Trump than when anyone in his presence could be so cavalierly dismissed or discharged. He might actually bother to listen once in a while.
So too, he would be very aware of the limits on use of the phone. Knowing the time was short and that the warden was listening and recording his words, Mr. Trump might offer something passing for restrained conversation and actual diplomacy. Of course, those on the other end of the line would first have to agree to accept a "collect call from the President of the United States."
His moments with family would be of great importance. It would be interesting to see if Melania and all the kids would take up residence in their former homestead while Donald was lounging in his 8 by 10. Would they come to visit or merely send cards saying "wish you were here"?
So, I think it might do us all well if Mr. Trump led this nation from behind bars. I mean could he mess things up any worse than last time, when he was free to spread his wings and disseminate his nonsense whenever and wherever he chose? Teach him discipline. Make him appreciate the unique opportunity afforded him this second time around. Make him take stock of where his life has gone off the rails and try to do better.
Make America great again. Lock him up.
