The Supremes

("Who Can Rein In the Supreme Court?")
While I appreciate the sentiment behind this piece, the impact of any ethical constraints on the Supreme Court Justices would be negligible at best.
The reality is that any law enacted would not fundamentally alter the relationships of these men and women with their "benefactors". Nor would they, in any meaningful way change the political leanings that so seriously mark what is, in theory only, a body immune from emotional sway in their determinations.
We are now saddled ad infinitum with Justice Thomas and those whose ideology will take this court and country down a rabbit hole. Even the worst of the worst Thomas-like hand outs on steroids will not have meaningful consequence on the giver or the receiver.
At its core, ours is fundamentally an unease with the ongoing damage Supremes entrenched for life can cause this nation. Putting a band-aid on a gaping wound may superficially assuage the worst of our fears, but will do nothing to resolve the underlying problem.
Term limits is ultimately the only answer to cure what ails us.
