("After Trump's Pardon, Picking Up the Pieces With a 'J6' Identity")
Frankly, New York Times, I don't give a damn.
I care not of Rachel Powell's life. You have given her an importance (a front page article, bleeding over into two inside pages, with an image of her and her prominent J6 tattoo) she does not deserve.
Our world is overrun with the tales of hardship unilaterally inflicted by Mr. Trump on millions of those within our midst who have done no wrong. Those are the stories that merit our attention, our sympathy, our concern.
As to Ms. Powell, she should reside in obscurity, not celebrity. She is not a victim, not a hero. Her "struggle" to obtain a conceal carry permit or to find adequate housing, is not newsworthy. She should have remained but a nameless blemish on our landscape. From today forward she will be anything but.
Thanks, for nothing, New York Times. The story of Rachel Powell is not worthy of the paper it was printed in.
Fucken well-told.
