There is a beautiful sunrise this morning. The colors cascading across the sky. New York City looking serene and quiet as a baby waking from beneath a warm blanket.
The waters of the Hudson are still. Soon the traffic on its surface will leave its mark but for the moment it is as calm as a meditation.
In the distance, planes dot the landscape. Their path seeming almost leisurely, no more rushed than a fisherman patiently waiting for a tug on the line.
The great gray bridge is exactly where I left it last night. This building from where I gaze out at the world remains as it was when I last closed my eyes.
If good fortune continues to shine on me, this evening when I lay my head to rest I will give thanks to the sunset, still waters, great gray bridge and the city that tucks me in gently and wishes me a good night.
This is the place where I reside.
I know how lucky I am.
Lovely.
