("The Alitos, the Neighborhood Clash and the Upside-Down Flag")
These are definitely not the people in Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.
And about those signs. "Let's Go Brandon" exhortations proliferate in some neighborhoods without apparent concern by those exhibiting them for the not so hidden middle finger they are waving at President Biden.
But there is no ubiquitous equivalent statement that is the rage of lawns of Democrats. While Republicans love to proudly announce their fealty to Mr. Trump and their often profane loathing for anyone and everyone who opposes him, there is almost universal silence in response. The upside down flag or the Appeal to Heaven one, actually even the right side up one, all intended as expletives not deleted, in your face declarations of independence from the tyranny of those who have the friggin audacity to condemn their beliefs.
And what about their clothing? From that red four letter hat, to shirts, pants, and I am certain, underwear, socks and shoes, all intended as billboards (some under cover) of hate.
Many of these never wrong far right people can dish out insults, but maybe, just maybe, some can't take them. Maybe the wife of the Supreme Court Justice is one of them. Maybe thin skinned when Donald is the accused, not the accuser, when he (and they) is on the receiving end of the aspersions and accusations, the slights and the not so slights.
All I know for sure is that Martha-Ann Alito is not who Bob had in mind as someone residing on Sesame Street, not the postman who delivers good tidings or a fireman who puts outs conflagrations. No, Mrs. Alito was definitely not a person in Grover, Elmo and Cookie Monster's neighborhood.
What transgression is sufficient to get Justice Roberts to admonish his associate justices, let alone call for a resignation? This court has been tarnished forever.--RE
Not in my neighborhood. She and her ilk are not welcome.
