The King's English
The problem for the Democrats in trying to come up with a cohesive and coherent policy to counter Donald Trump is that he is talking in his own language. One never heard before on this stage. Brutal, without structure or moral underpinning. Intended to lay waste whenever and wherever he sees fit.
It is disorienting, disturbing, disastrous. And it is voiced in word and acted out in deed in a tone and temperament that no politician in a democracy would ever utilize. Or at least should not. With no precedent or predecessor.
And so the Dems are flailing. Unable to converse in Trump-speak, to counter his contrivances, his condemnations, his constant condescensions and confrontations with their own intensity. For every action there is not always an equal and opposite reaction.
It is Mr. Trump's game, played by him alone. The vocabulary but his. Vituperative, vacuous, venomous, venal. The wannabe King's English. Not ever spoken in America's near 250 year experiment in democracy.
