When in the course of human events there comes a circumstance so fundamentally anathema to the precepts upon which this nation rests as to render them without purpose or place. When our alienations are so severe as to locate no common ground. When neither the passage of days nor the length and breadth of our conversation can relieve a malady that infects our very soul. It is then we have a duty to express our grievances, take redress from that which is our disease and declare us free of the blemish and stain which prevails in this darkest moment.
We have borne witness to the usurpations in myriad forms. Advice and consent no longer with meaning. The separation of powers neutered. The voices of opposition quieted by fear of unholy repercussion. Animus and hatred, bias and prejudice the coin of the realm. Our alliances with other nations, our promises holy sworn, treated but as a matter of disdain and contempt to be discarded without thought of consequence. Reveling in contemplation of conquest and annexation of foreign territories. Those with no relation to our government granted access without limit to that which well should have protection from their gaze. Rules of law and constitutional order abandoned summarily, chaos and confusion in their stead. Favor given but to those with bended knee, to the rest threat without justification or cause. Compensation withheld and employment undone as by whim. Tariffs and penalties imposed whose weight falls heavy on the many without good purpose or studied principle. Incendiary in language and deed. Promoting the unknowing and uncaring to stations for which they sorely lack understanding and temperament . Diminishment and deprivation the punishment for those merely seeking safe harbor. Unrelenting in devotion to division. Bearing no relationship with the truth and close kinship with falsity.
For all these, and more, we have placed demand that he rectify his wrongs, that he turn his eye to the benefit all those within his care, that he seek wise counsel, acknowledge his failings and demonstrate the capacity, no the willing heart, to address and remedy his legion of transgressions. But he has shown no remorse, no regret, his self indulgence and unchecked ego only seeming to multiply with each passing moment.
We can therefore tolerate no more. We can no longer abide the indiscretions, the infidelities upon this once great nation. We thus, with a heart heavy in acknowledging the gravity of our pronouncement, hereby Declare Our Independence from the tyranny that has befallen us. We will no more abide by its dictates, no longer give credence to its demands, no longer recognize its authority over us. From this moment forward we are free of its oppressions, free to follow the course of our own destiny on terms that follow a just and moral path, with a clear mind and a willing heart.
We are grateful for the strength to carry on and repair what may appear irreparably broken but is not. For our democracy is stronger than one man, more resilient than an aberrant, a distraction, no matter how deep the sickness may appear in the moment. The sun will soon shine once more and the terror will recede until it is but faded memory. God bless this nation and may all within its borders find prosperity of mind and heart as tomorrow beckons.
If only it were that easy. We fought and died for our freedom.
thank you for setting the record straight............we will soon have to peacefully march in the streets!
