The Closing Argument

("Harris Needs a Closing Argument. Here's One.")
And here's another.
Let me be honest with you: this nation is in serious trouble. We are deeply divided, personally and politically. And on November 6th when you awake, no matter the outcome, we will still be a country with grave internal conflict.
But we will still be a country if I am your next President. We will still have the rule of law. Still have a Constitution. Still have a leader who believes in the basic tenets of democracy, the foundational principles upon which our greatness must rest. Still have a fighting chance to begin the healing process.
But none of this is possible if Donald Trump is elected. He has proven in the past that his arrogance, his egomania knows no bounds. And given the opportunity he has explicitly and repeatedly informed us that the landscape of America will be forever changed, forever damaged beyond recognition. His scorched earth policies will decimate our nation and create an unrecognizable Hell from which there is no escape. The dystopia of his imagination made horrifyingly real.
I don't dare suggest that by electing me our problems will be solved or even significantly abated. Or that the wounds we have caused each other will magically disappear. But I can promise you the possibility of a better, healthier tomorrow. And I can likewise promise you that this can never, will never happen if the fury of, the furies of Donald Trump are unleashed. He is not the embodiment of the American dream. He is its worst nightmare.
I am Kamala Harris and I approve of this message because every word of it is absolutely true.
