Boys and girls. Ladies and germs. Welcome to the biggest circus that has ever come to town.
You will witness sights you have never seen before. There will be a pack of elephants running wild seeming for all the world but a gaggle of conniving snakes, not so wily coyotes shooting off their mouths, bulls stampeding everywhere but beware for there will be BS all over the Floor, huge flocks of birds with only far right wings, Foxes overrunning the henhouse, and swarms of worker bees blindly following the King bee into the pits of Hell. A place where an eagle can no longer fly but a slug soars.
You will be unable to turn your gaze from the high wire act where an entire nation balances without a safety net. There will be magicians who can make hope disappear, turn lies into truth and make sycophants appear from under whatever rocks they have been residing since the day they, and their evil plots, were hatched.
There is the clown car, stuffed to overflowing, with the most obscene, absurd group of unqualified fools given the reins and the keys to the kingdom while they navigate us to the very edge of the abyss. Appointed and anointed, chosen not for their brains but for their unfettered, unquestioned, loyalty to their master. A puppet show, where they are as marionettes, all the strings pulled from above. Deaf, definitely dumb and blind to what logic would call upon them to do.
But most frightening of all is the orange man who was born without any convictions but now has 34 of them, who never met a fact he couldn't twist and turn into a pretzel, who has never been married to a principle but has been to the three ringed, three headed wife, who has huffed and puffed and blown the House down, who is a weasel, a worm, dead in the water but now resurrected as the second coming of Jesus only better, who has robbed our country of our good name picking our pockets while we watched, who has turned, honesty, morality and compassion into four letter words.
I promise you this will be a show unlike any the United States has witnessed in 250 years. One where democracy holds on by a thread, where the Constitution takes a long constitutional off a short pier, where justice is a mirage, where immigrants eat dogs and cats before one day they just disappear, where up is down, wrong is right, and rights are wronged. Where good is bad, bad is great and mercy is nowhere to be found. Where you can't tell enemy from friend without a scorecard, but it costs $59.99 and all your integrity to buy one.
Where heads spin, stomachs turn and ears burn. Where mountains of trash talk pile up, rivers of nonsense flow and a tsunami of ugly and dangerous is omnipresent and headed directly for you.
So step right in, throw away your sanity and your ability to reason, throw up your hands and bury your heads if you must. But be warned, this performance is scheduled to last four years, yet may well remain until death do us part. Yours of course.
This is the greatest show on earth, hosted by the greatest ringmaster ever. The cost of admission, you ask. Every last shred of dignity America has.
Wow, how could you see my nightmares so clearly?
