("House Passes Aid Bill for Israel but Not for Ukraine")
I liked it better when they had nothing to say.
So the Republicans in the House have chosen their leader and are now back in business. The business of undermining this nation, as well as democracies in distress elsewhere.
Coupling monies to Israel with denial of humanitarian support in Gaza, funds for Ukraine to battle Mr. Putin or resources for the IRS to chase down tax cheats, is a certain way to insure this proposed legislation ends up in the trash bin.
While these charlatans play their games, flexing political muscle for the cameras, the world waits and worries. Each day that passes without the adults entering the room a massive wasted opportunity, a horror show unfolding in slow motion.
The people of America deserve better than this. Dysfunction is not a governing philosophy. Anarchy is not a plan. Spitting in the face of reason and sanity does not make one a beacon on the hill.
We have seemingly accepted that Republicans in the House serve merely to voice our worst impulses, to be our country's collective worst nightmare. They revel not in attempting to enact serious legislation but in undermining it.
I would rather they just sit in the corner with a dunce cap on their head. The brat pack is back and worse than ever.
I fear for our country.--RE
