("Why Do We Love ‘The Bear’ So Much?")
There is SO much pain in these characters. From Carmy on down there is disappointment dripping off these people, each struggling with their demons, each trying with every fiber of their being to survive in a world they can barely fathom and that hardly ever understands them, or even bothers to try.
And yet, this is not a tale drowning in misery. There is possibility here. The opportunity to become something more, something better than the day before. The chance to give the middle finger to the doubt, to the circumstances that would weigh them down and seem to dictate they will never be more than this. That failure does not have to attach to them forever. That the past does not have to become the future.
The Bear aches. It hurts. It cries. It screams. But it never gives up. And for that we love it in a way we have rarely ever loved anything else on the screen, little or big.
It is real. It is raw. And after what seemed forever, the Bear is coming back. Serving up the most delicious, delectable of meals imaginable. We are ravenous.
So excited too. Love this show.
