Trump to Biden: "Mr. Biden, tear down that wall."

This wall has never been and is not now anything but a dog whistle, a scare tactic of Mr. Trump's, warning of caravans coming to rape your women, fill your streets with drugs, overwhelm your cities and take your jobs. Political capital to be used to secure votes not borders.

Because if Mr. Trump was truly concerned about the welfare of this country and not merely the welfare of Donald Trump he would not be directing Republicans to shut down the possibility of a deal in an election year lest it be seen as a win for the opposition. Rather he would be championing any legislation that could be considered a step forward in addressing what he has been suggesting, since the day he descended that escalator in 2015, is a cornerstone problem of this nation. Damn the personal political consequences. Save our nation, first, foremost and forever.

Or not.

No, in 2024, Donald Trump doesn't want that wall built. The art of the deal? Not gonna happen. Rather, this year it is the art of the stall.
