We have a lot to be proud of. It is not easy to set a world record.
This week has seen the hottest recorded day on average across the globe. Now that deserves a pat on the back.
It is as if the 10 plagues were descending upon us, due to our continued abuse of the planet earth, which is fighting back with every tool in its arsenal. From melting ice caps to out of control wildfires, from temperatures that can not only fry an egg but our lungs as well, from extended droughts that can starve the land of needed sustenance to floods that wash away all that stand in their path, from sea to tumultuous sea, we have so much we can point to as we bask in the glory of being number one, the G.O.A.T.
We are being sent louder and louder hints that maybe, just maybe, we should consider changing our ways before we become a mere asterisk in the history of the place we now inhabit.
But, what the heck, it is not every day that you can say you are the undisputed champion of anything. And what would be so bad if we didn't have to shovel snow or scrape our car windshields anymore? I mean who wouldn't consider that a win?
So, let's celebrate our accomplishment. But we dare not merely rest on our laurels. If we continue to ignore the flashing lights we are sure to set more and more world records in the days and years to come. We are smokin' hot.
And the melting crown on our head is certainly fitting tribute to what we have worked so hard to achieve.
We fiddle while our world burns. Ridding the seas of plastic, which raises the temperature of our oceans, should be federally tasked. Funding to come from plastic producers--RE
