Shock and awful.

Donald Trump has, with his words and a few strokes of the pen, unleashed his furies on the first day of the second term of what promises to be four years of Hell.

Withdrawing from an environmental alliance, freeing the J1600, putting TikTok back on the clock, chasing immigrants down the block, strangling the IRS, promising to use his first (or fourth) favorite word (tariff) to strike a mortal blow to our own economy, turning DEI into DOA and transgender terms into MIA, threatening to make birthright no right, drilling baby drilling, transforming WHO into why, treating Panama and Greenland as chew toys.

And on the second day, He rested. Mr. Trump playing God and announcing America is now his play thing. Daring us to try to stop him. Making certain we understand this time he will not be deterred from doing anything and everything he desires, all at once if that be his wont. No longer a President. Now a ruler.

FDR was wrong. We have far more to fear than fear itself. The damage as far as the eye can see and the mind can envision.

So it begins.
