("Trump's Fate Belongs in the Hands of 12 Ordinary Citizens")
How does one not "carry their prejudices" about Donald Trump into a jury room? It is a question that creates reasonable doubt on the possibility of reasonable doubt being the guiding hand in determining the guilt or innocence of one who is quite certainly, the most well known, well hated or loved Defendant in the near 250 history of our nation.
Why would Mr. Trump and other Georgia defendants seek removal of their case from State to Federal Court? Because the pool of potential jurors would cut a larger swath of territory, giving these defendants a greater chance of landing an always Trumper in the jury room.
This will not be a gathering of "peers" to decide the fate of Mr. Trump. Rather it will be those who have watched in admiration or horror as he has filled our screens and our minds since he first "fired" a would be Apprentice seeking his approval.
Now the shoe is on the other foot as Donald Trump looks for a thumbs up, not a thumb in the eye. The strength of our system of justice on trial in equal measure to the fate of one man.
