("Johnson Says He Will Bar Transgender Women from Public Bathrooms")
Republicans do love their potty talk.
The bathroom seems to hold an enormous fascination for right wingers. They can't get enough of using it as the visual centerpiece of their attack on transgender persons.
As though the goal of those who have surely faced enormous hardships as they struggled with their identity, who made courageous and difficult decisions, who pose a threat to no one, have a secret agenda to use the public restrooms for inappropriate purposes, enduring all they have just to get a sneak peek.
Sarah McBride deserves none of this scrutiny, of this enmity. To do what no other transgender person has done, to overcome the obstacles and become the first to be elected to Congress is an accomplishment that should be greatly applauded, not sullied by potty talk.
While allegations of sexual improprieties swirl around several of those Mr. Trump has chosen for posts of great importance in his administration and Republican leaders like Mr. Johnson seek to keep the essential facts hidden from view, when the President elect has been found by a jury to have committed sexual assault yet been deemed worthy of holding the highest office in the land, how can we instead focus our political venom on a person who has committed no sin, has done no wrong?
I would suggest rather that those like the Speaker of the House who attack Sarah McBride with malicious intent, seeking to sensationalize a non-existent problem, wash their mouths out with soap and stop, now and forever, with the potty talk.
Vicious. Unrelenting. Unintelligent.
Let Mike Johnson and his ilk relieve themselves as was done in biblical times.
