Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last?
Who can forget peaceful protesters, outside the White House in the wake of the death of George Floyd, being tear gassed so Mr. Trump could stand in front of a church, Bible in hand, in a tone deaf, discordant staged moment of political nonsense.
So, it cannot shock us that Arlington National Cemetery and fallen soldiers are treated as nothing more than fodder for Mr. Trump's purposes, despite the clear and unequivocal understanding that those buried on that sacred ground were not to be utilized for a politician's needs.
Mr. Trump has directed his particular brand of ugliness at John McCain's capture, at Medal of Honor recipients. Here is a a man who refused to travel by helicopter to honor our war heroes lost in battle in France in World War I because of fear that the rain would mess up his hair, who has called fighting men and women "suckers and losers".
Our warriors are clearly not held near and dear to his heart. But when Mr. Trump finds his own goals would be furthered by playing the role of grateful former commander in chief, well then we have our Arlington National Cemetery moment. And no rule of decorum, no recognition that there are places where even his ego has to be silenced, have the slightest effect on Donald Trump.
For Mr. Trump this is but one more body strewn across a landscape littered with his transgressions. Arlington National Cemetery just another site for a photo op.
The most despicable person that ever walked this planet...
He is once again, showing how unhinged and unfit to be a leader of our great country.
