Do we imagine that matters will end well now that Mr. Trump has called in the National Guard?

Mr. Trump has been salivating for this. Waiting for the moment when he can respond to a "true insurrection." Not like the patriots who answered the call on January 6th, not a loyalty oath, but now an assault on our government, on his government. The day when the unwanted, the unworthy, need to be punished. Need to be shown in unequivocal terms the consequence of incurring his wrath.

There will be no forgiveness, no pardons coming from Mr. Trump for those on the streets of L.A. protesting man's inhumanity to man. No understanding of the fear, of the pain that resides within those whose lives have been shattered by Mr. Trump's hatreds. Nothing but a bully's bullets and bayonets in answer to their cries.

These are not National Guardsmen arriving in California. They are the voice of Donald Trump. Not seeking to restore order but to send a message. A declaration of what awaits those who challenge his directives.

May God protect those who assemble. Our Federal government will certainly not.
