Do not believe for a moment that this statement was directed only at the Canadian Prime Minister.

For you think because you support him you are safe? For you think because the color of your skin is the "right" one you are safe? For you think because you are "straight" you are safe? For you think because you were born here you are safe?

Never think you are not next in line. Never think that knock on the door is intended for someone else. Never think this must be a terrible mistake.

For though today it is not you. For though today you are not the "other.” For though today you are not under attack. Do not be fooled. Do not hold tight to the misperception that because you are his friend today you are his friend tomorrow.

For when Donald Trump said "never say never" he was not talking to the leader of Canada. He was talking to you.
