So the secret to beating Mr. Trump in the primary is merely separating the wheat from the chaff in the rest of the field?

Well, that didn't work in 2016 as Jeb Bush, Cruz, Rubio, Walker, Kasich, Carson, and the remainder of the big engine that couldn't, failed to slow Trump's runaway train. And that was before MAGA was tattooed on the forehead of millions of Republican primary voters.

Look, if two impeachments, four indictments and lousy results in 2018, 2020 and 2022 have had no effect on the loyalty pledge always-Trumpers live by, then stop pretending there is a fictional alternative in your party who stands a snowball's chance in Mar-a-Lago of knocking Humpty Trumpty off his pedestal.

So, whether it is the former sycophant Christie, former battery-mate Pence, former U.Ner Haley or one of the new kids on the block, the last man (or woman) standing will only be a huff and a puff and a super -Tuesday from Republican political Siberia.
