"Hey Google, stop navigating"
(Another direction issues from it)
"Hey Google, stop navigating"
"Just trying to do my job"
I had inadvertently clearly offended Google and was now being reprimanded. I was, frankly, a little bit intimidated by what I perceived as the menacing tone of Google's voice.
It was not as if I had acted harshly. I mean maybe I could have been more polite, asked whether Google could please refrain from providing further instructions, but I did not believe it bruised quite so easily. In fact, I was not even certain it would have comprehended my request if I had utilized more complicated language.
But there was no incivility in my tone, of that I promise.
I admit I was a bit fearful of making any additional requests for several minutes. Hoping Google would calm down and let bygones be bygones. I wondered if Google held grudges, never before having been the target of its ire.
I questioned in my mind if this issue was unique to my Google or a more universal matter. Maybe over time my Google had determined who it could control and acted accordingly. Maybe I just caught it on a bad day. Maybe after it had an argument with the Google next door.
Anyway, after a while, tentatively, cautiously, I made another request. To my great relief, this time there was no rancor, no anger in Google's reply. Evidently it had decided to forgive and forget.
But I have learned my lesson and will be well aware of my manner(s) hereinafter. If Google does not respond immediately as I would wish, I will inquire if everything is ok before asking further. For now I know that Google has bad days and can take unintended slights to heart.
Just like the rest of us humans.
You talk to Google?
