It's one thing when he goes after elite universities. It is another when he attacks Big Bird.

When Sesame Street is in the cross-hairs, when there is an order to silence Elmo, Bert and Ernie, Grover and Cookie Monster, then we know this nation is in serious trouble.

And when All Things Considered, Fresh Air, Morning Edition and Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me, are deemed subversive propaganda, then our freedom of expression has been reduced to the size of a thimble.

Mr. Trump has declared war on our minds. Attempting to reshape them to mirror his, to remove from sight and sound those who do not sing his praises.

This is what an autocracy looks like.

This is what America looks like.
