Clothes don't make the man.

Both President Trump and one of his hand picked reporters dressed down President Zelensky for not dressing up when appearing for the kissing of the ring ceremony at the White House.

But the disrespect they spoke of was wholly misplaced. For it was Mr. Trump with his naked aggression, his effort to humiliate, belittle and embarrass a leader with courage and fortitude, who was shown in full and open view, for who and what he is.

When Mr. Trump concluded this misbegotten, off the rails disaster by remarking that it would make for great television, it was as a look into his soul. Without substance, without compassion, fully dressed not in suit and tie, but attired from head to toe in cruelty and insatiable ego. Willing, even eager, to sacrifice a noble ruler, before unbelieving eyes, for sport and ratings.
