America, America, God What's Become of Thee. We've Shed Our Good, Our Brotherhood. In Fear of What We See
(‘We Don’t Want Them’: Trump Signs Travel Ban On Citizens From 12 Countries)
His is a vision of a universe in chaos, in turmoil. Danger lurking around every corner. Trouble a step away.
Donald Trump has made America afraid. Closing down its borders to prevent entry by those, he informs us, who would rape and pillage, steal our jobs while simultaneously taking advantage of our largesse. It is the central theme that has catapulted him to the White House from that fake boardroom on the Apprentice.
He has made us smaller and ever uglier. No longer a beacon of hope, no longer the land of the free, but a place where we view the world with suspicion, where our default ideology is one infused by our prejudices and hatreds. We have circled the wagons, shut our doors and turned our backs on the rest of the world.
This ban is not a show of strength but weakness. We continue down this rabbit hole at grave peril of losing our soul.
America, America, God what's become of thee. We've shed our good, our brotherhood, in fear of what we see.

PS. as a long term member of many cultural affairs, museums, dance, philharmonic we have noticed that going back in NYC history, real estate developers have been generous supporters of the City's great cultural institutions, EXCEPT donald. Take, take take, but never give back must be his model. sad, sad, sad, sad.
We are but nothing.
