No tragedy is too great for Donald Trump to employ it as a political weapon.
From the moment of his Truth Social comments in the near aftermath of the crash taking 67 lives to his press conference in the hours that followed, Mr. Trump has been pointing fingers and placing blame. Those he attacks at every instant his ingrained targets. Obama, Buttigieg, DEI hires, Mr. Trump is never without basis to locate enemies and villains.
The horror of what transpired in the air over the Potomac lost in Mr. Trump's venomous remarks. There will come a day when the how and why of this is fully determined. But today is not that day, nor the time for rampant speculation and accusation. Today is only for trying to provide solace and comfort in word and deed.
But not if you are Donald Trump. A man without an ounce of compassion in his heart. A man looking for a disaster to exploit.
He is a disaster.
