A "Perfect" Meeting

("Trump Suggests Putin Wants to End the War, as Zelensky Looks On")
It was as if he was a prisoner of war being paraded in front of the cameras, thanking his captor for its warm embrace.
President Zelensky looking as uncomfortable as if he had just gotten off a "perfect" phone call and was standing on a bed of hot coals while being compelled to applaud Mr. Trump's tenacity in pursuit of the truth about that scoundrel Biden.
Yes, Mr. Trump, you are correct that the Russian leader does want to end the war. One that would entail Ukraine accepting defeat, relinquishing substantial swaths of territory and facing a future aligned not with the West but with Russian imperialism, an unwilling ally to its conqueror.
Mr. Trump's "plan" to bring a conclusion to the war is as well formulated as his "concept of a plan" to replace Obamacare. There is none. Except Ukraine's total capitulation.
A "perfect" meeting. Except for the leader now forced to shake the hand of the man who could soon hold the future of Ukraine in his tiny hands and empty promises of quick resolution of the conflict.
