So 19 people joined in a criminal conspiracy to subvert the will of the people and overturn the results of a free and fair election in the state of Georgia.

Fani Willis has indicated an intention to try all those charged in one trial. From the former President of the United States all the way to a bail bondsman. With a handful of lawyers, a state Senator or two, a former publicist for Ye and a pastor among those thrown in the cauldron.

It is the stuff of movies, a Mafia like gathering of everyone from the boss to his lowliest underling. One can only envision a courtroom bulging with a gaggle of defense attorneys and their associates. A RICO trial starring the political Teflon Don, along with his consigliere and a crew of not so merry men and women.

Who will plead out? Who will request a severance, a separate trial, so as not to be swept up in the tidal wave, the tsunami that is certain to envelope this proceeding?

Time will tell. But it does feel right in the moment, to consider this for what it was. A massive undertaking involving everyone from the capo dei capi  to the foot soldier. An enterprise intended to undermine the rule of law and the very foundation of our democracy.
