Ms. Ernst, it is not that we're all going to die. It is a matter of when we die, of how we die, of why we die.

You see, your cruelty cannot be hidden by your later attempt at insincere and, absolutely tone deaf, apology. You have only exacerbated your foot in mouth moment, turning a fire into a full fledged conflagration.

There is a world of difference between a hand out and a hand up. A distinction that you neither understand or appreciate. Yours is a universe where you look for the negative, where you see people as taking advantage of a system, not of a massive community in desperation, in crying need of assistance.

You believe in a government not for, but against the people. Not there to stand guard to protect us from ill winds, but to push us out into the cold to face the worst on our own. Compassion not part of your vocabulary. You look out on a world of enemies. Yours is a vision that diminishes us at every turn.

So yes, Ms. Ernst, thank you for reminding us death is inevitable. Just try remembering that life is important as well.
